Towing & Impound Fees

TOW SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF TRENTON SHALL NOT CHARGE FEES IN EXCESS OF THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULE FOR THE TOWING AND/OR STORAGE OF VEHICLES: |

| A. | TOW FEES - Effective March 15, 2008 | ||||||||
| All vehicles will be towed to the location indicated by City of Trenton personnel. | |||||||||
| Passenger Vehicles | $100.00 | ||||||||
| Includes motorcycles and trucks up to 8,000 lbs GVW | |||||||||
| Flat Rate - standard wrecker, flat bed, roll back, or heavy-duty wrecker | |||||||||
| Trucks | $115.00 | ||||||||
| Includes straight or tractor 9 tag to 16 tag | |||||||||
| Heavy trucks over 16 tags including tractor & trailer | $165.00 | ||||||||
| Additional hours at $41.00 per hour | |||||||||
| B. | ADMINISTRATIVE RELEASE AND IMPOUND FEE - Effective March 15, 2008 | $115.00 | |||||||
| C. | DEAD RUN | $30.00 | |||||||
| Vehicle is not physically removed from original spot, even though it may be hooked-up to the wrecker. A tow service collecting for a dead run may not tow another vehicle for the same incident unless the tow service comes up in the rotation a second time. | |||||||||
| D. | STORAGE | ||||||||
| One day is defined as each 24-hour period or fraction thereof, beginning after the expiration of the first twenty-four (24) hours, during which there are no storage fees charged. All storage fees are per day. | |||||||||

| Note: If a vehicle is to be stored at a location other than the City of Trenton Impound Lot, it will be the responsibility of the towing service to promptly provide transportation for the person claiming the vehicle from the Trenton Police Division to that storage location if necessary. It shall also be the duty of the tow service to render assistance in delivering the vehicle from the storage facility to the Trenton Police Division for easy removal. | |||||||||

| The following are considered an extension of the original call for service and can be added as an additional charge after the first hour (fees are per 1/2-hr): | |||||||||
| Extricating vehicles from deep snow or mud | $45.00 | ||||||||
| Winching a vehicle to the road from over an embankment or other area | $45.00 | ||||||||
| F. | SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE | ||||||||
| Removing or disconnecting the drive shaft on passenger vehicles | |||||||||

| Sweeping and cleaning debris from vehicles being towed | |||||||||

| G. | FEES PAID BY THE CITY OF TRENTON | ||||||||
| Payment for services will be made on a monthly basis after receipt of invoice. | |||||||||
| FEE SCHEDULE: | |||||||||
| Move only | $25.00 | ||||||||
| Defined as "a vehicle moved from one location to another within the immediate vicinity when impoundment is not intended. | |||||||||
| Move only to an installation where police accept custodial care, such as a district station, coroner's office, etc. | $20.00 | ||||||||
| Regular tow | $30.00 | ||||||||
| Handling heavy object (ie. safe) | $30.00 | ||||||||
| Special tow | $25.00 | ||||||||
| Defined as "when the tow operator remains with the officer for a specified period of time towing or moving vehicles as the need arises." | |||||||||
